Can I reserve a study space at the library?

Can I reserve a study space at the library?
I have a project I am working on for midterms and need a space to work on it on campus.

Answer

We do not offer reservable spaces here at the HCC Library. However, we have some excellent options for productive work spaces. Please note that all of the following are available on a first come, first served basis:

  • Collaborative work areas are available on the lobby level of the library. These spaces are equipped with charging tables and smaller group tables with no additional technology. Please note that this is not a quiet floor.
  • On the second story of the library, we have 1 small group work room available, as well as a larger, multi-group room. these rooms come equipped with work tables, computer keyboards and mice, as well as a large, sharable screen. These group rooms are not quiet rooms, but noise should be kept to a reasonable level.
  • Additionally, the 2nd floor is home to "the chill zone" where students can find a more casual workspace to work independently, or collaboratively. Casual and comfortable seating is available. For a more structured alternative, we suggest working in the quiet computing lab on the 2nd floor of the library.
  • The fourth floor is our quiet study floor. Ideal for solo study, this floor has a large number of study carrels, providing a quiet, more private feeling environment for independent study. Outlets are located near each set of carrels for ease of charging devices.
